Colophon
This site has been rebuilt more times than I care to count. That’s probably true of most personal websites if they survive long enough. I like to think of it as a permanent work of progress.
Right now it’s Astro on Cloudflare Workers. That’s been my favorite version of this site so far because it mostly stays out of the way. I get to think about the HTML, the writing, and the shape of the thing instead of babysitting a pile of runtime decisions.
Earlier versions lived as plain static HTML, WordPress, Jekyll, Metalsmith, Gatsby, and Next.js. Each one made sense for a while. Astro feels closest to what I want from a personal site: content-first, mostly boring in the best possible way, and easy to keep alive.
Typography leans on your system’s ui-rounded, which means this site is quietly rooting for SF Pro Rounded when it can get it. System fonts are underrated, and I would rather this place stay readable than precious.
